Hello,
I want to know the S12ZVC Microcontroller (48 Pin) Port S drive strength. That means how much current it can withstand, especially for PS0, PS1, PS2, PS3.
I couldn't find the information in MC9S12ZVCRM_V1_3 document.
Like how it is shown for Port P on Page 43 in the above document.
PP0, PP4, PP5 & PP6 supports 25 mA driver strength to VSSX
PP2 supports 20 mA driver strength from VDDX (EVDD)
Thank you
Hi Amit,
Instantaneous maximum current on PP0,PP4,PP5 & PP6 is -30..+80mA
Instantaneous maximum current on PP2 is -70..+25mA
Instantaneous maximum current on all other digital IO pins is -25..+25mA
Pins PP0, PP2, PP4, PP5, PP6 are high current pins with specific characteristics. See Table A-8. 5V I/O Characteristics.
All other digital IO pins are characterized by maximum voltage drop 0.8V with 4mA input/output current. This characteristic is guaranteed across operational conditions and temperature range.
If current load will be higher than 4mA, voltage characteristic could be influenced (voltage drop could be higher).
More details about GPIO structure and behavior could be found in our application note:
AN2434 Input-Output Pin Drivers on HCS12 Family MCUs
http://www.freescale.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/app_note/AN2434.pdf
Note: this application note was created for older S12 families built on 250nm technology. Therefore numbers and some details will not fit, however general information are still valid.
I hope it helps you.
Have a great day,
RadekS
