I recently bought a Multilink Universal Rev E. When I use Code Warrior to debug the code, it says that it cannot establish a connection with my S12ZVM development board.
Hi,
Please ensure that you selected correct port. Debugger-menu-HC12MultilinkCyclonePro-Communication-Port…
Please disconnect external loads connected to the board.
Please ensure that you don’t have open more than one debugger window.
Please ensure that MCU is correctly powered.
Check correct connection of the multilink to the connector. (I often connect it in opposite direction to the BDM connector)
Check both sides of the multilink cable whether it is not damaged and correctly connected.
If you use external BDM interface like USB BDM Multilink, please ensure that ribbon cable is not damaged and you use correct pin position (You should check both ends ).
Please check whether MCU is hot - this typically signalize damaged MCU or short at connected load.
I would like to recommend test connection with the fresh new project.
If your project contains any data in the flash security field, the MCU may be secured. Please look at https://community.nxp.com/t5/CodeWarrior-Development-Tools/Usecure-S12Z-controller-via-debug-interfa... document for more details.
Next thing to mention is whether you have downloaded and use the last drivers …. link bellow.
If nothing happens then another possibility for support is the manufacturer of the device www.pemicro.com.
Best regards,
Ladislav
I think my Multilink Universal Rev E is broken, because my Multilink Universal FX works just fine, by the way, in the same setup.
