I recently purchased a XEP100 from TechnologicalArts that works good.

The XGATE assembler has problems and I was able to finally develope a XGATE Serial transceiver.  I recall serveral request in the past for an example of an XGATE Serial program. I excerted a part of my program to assist some friends and they though it would be helpfull for the forum...

The enclosed file (XG_TUT_02) may assist you in developement...

I would like to recommend for example DEMO9S12XEP100 board:

www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=DEMO9S12XEP100

or EVB9S12XEP100 board:

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=EVB9S12XEP100

Important note:

Unfortunately both boards contains onboard BDM interface from SofTec and their interface drivers is not supported under 64bit OS.

Authors of this interfaces terminated cooperation with Freescale and henceforth they did not support these products.

There are possible solutions:

  1. Different BDM Interface. For example P&E USB Multilink Interface:

          http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=USBMULTILINKBDM

  1. Different operational system. For example any 32bit windows.
  2. Intall virtual PC, Windows XP Mode 32bit, Install CW and drivers...
