LS1012AFRWY Bootloader

Hi,

I'm working with a LS1012AFRWY eval board and when it is plugged into the PC, nothing appears until the reset button is pressed.

When reset is pressed, a storage device "BOOTLOADER" appears and inside the storage device is a file "bootload.htm"

Previously the board would present a storage device "MBED" and a USB->Serial port that could be used to access U-Boot, etc.

EDIT: I've found a k20 firmware file on these forums and successfully uploaded that and now have the "MBED" and UART access again but the UART doesn't give U-Boot output like before. I guess now i will need to re-flash U-Boot, etc through the k20 CMSIS DAP. Is there any guide for this?

Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem.
The board is also the same FRWY-LS1012A.
But I haven't found the "k20 firmware file". Where is it? Even if I try to approach it with Linux, it does not recognize it as a serial port. Recognized as storage only.

I want a "k20 firmware file".

Excerpt from the Layerscape LS1012A Freeway (FRWY-LS1012A) Board Getting Started Guide, 5 Troubleshooting:

"1. Console not showing any prints.
a. Disconnect the USB cable and any other cables, such as header for USB power, debugger TAP. Wait for some time and reconnect the USB cable. Install the MBED driver again from:
https://developer.mbed.org/handbook/Windows-serial-configuration

b. Check the D1 green LED. It should turn on.
c. Press Reset switch (SW1). U-Boot logs will be available on the console.
d. If console still does not show any print, the flash image is corrupt. Try to flash the RCW and U-Boot again.
e. If you are using a Windows 10 machine as a host computer and encountering a serial port unstable issue, then disable the Volume storage service of the Windows machine."

Please refer to the following Community question concerning the MBED misbehaviour when connected to Windows 10:

Hello @ufedor ,

I'm also trying the same but when i connect USB 2.0 to host using USB cable I'm not finding any BOOTLOADER on my hoast machine.

Note: I'm trying on a custom board which has nothing(empty) and this custom board designed on basis of FRWY-LS1012A.

Hope you would reply to my message

Thank You

I've been through all that. I'm really asking about how to do this:

"the flash image is corrupt. Try to flash the RCW and U-Boot again"

It is possible that RCW in QSPI flash has already been broken.

Please refer to the procedure for the LS1012A FRDM board described in the thread

to do recovery.
