According to the MPC8313 Reference Manual : "IEEE 1588 timestamping not supported in conjunction with the SGMII 10/100 interface mode"; why is that ?

MPC8313 is quite old device, introduced ~12 years ago, and actually - one of the first devices with hardware timestamping.

According to MPC8313 device errata, IEEE 1588_2: "IEEE 1588 not supported in SGMII mode", timestamping in SGMII mode is not supported because TSEC controller does not properly support timestamping on SGMII interface. Note - MPC8313 device errata states this problem is fixed in rev. 2.0 silicon

Have a great day,

The errata says this problem is fixed in rev. 2.x silicon; but with the latest silicon revision, the reference manual states that timestamping is not supported in SGMII mode 10 / 100; meaning it does not work at 10Mbps and 100Mbps but is working at 1Gbps. Any reason why it does not work with the slower speeds ?
