TEA2017 - PFC Switching Frequency and Ringo Settings

Hi everyone,

I'm using a TEA2017 controller in a PFC + LLC converter, and I'm having some issues with the controller's settings in the Ringo SW. Since I don't know if I can share screenshots, I'll just summarize the issue:

1. When certain max/min switching frequencies are selected (i.e. 25kHz - 100kHz), regardless the remaining settings in the "PFC/Operation/Frequency" fields, the maximum switching frequency is never reached along the line period, even at high power. Regardless the min/max switching frequencies selected, it only varies from 40-80kHz along the line period.

2. Then, I tried disabling the valley switching operation, and the PFC switching frequency actually follows the set values.

Why is this happening? How is valley switching influencing the operation in CCM? Could anyone give me an application note or any hints that help me understand how to properly set the TEA2017 parameters to achieve valley switching in DCM/BCM and the frequency modulation I want in CCM at high load?

Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Nono
