Dear NXP Support Team,

I am working on a BMS design and planning to use the MC33HB2000FK (as in the RD-BESSK358BMU reference design).

I would like to estimate the MOSFET losses of the MC33HB2000FK for PCB thermal design purposes.

I have only found information on the MOSFET’s Rdson (for conduction losses), but nothing regarding switching losses. Is there any available information for switching loss estimation (e.g., Ciss, Coss, Crss, Rgate, or Eon/Eoff)?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards,
Anje Rozas Lizarralde

Dear Anje,

In the RD-BESSK358BMU reference design, the H-bridge is used to drive contactors, which are typically switched infrequently and at low PWM frequencies (if any). So for this use case, the switching losses of the MC33HB2000FK are negligible. The primary thermal design consideration should focus on conduction losses, which can be estimated using the provided Rdson values and expected load current.
