Hi,

I am new to Freescale so my questions might be very basic

1. How to identify the revision of P4080DS board?

    My u-boot prints "CPU0:  P4080E, Version: 3.0" in the very startup, is this the revision?

2. as per the SDK fm1-gb1 port is used for Linux kernel which is on the main board, I am not able to ping through this port even the ifconfig shows it is RUNNING, port has RED led

    contantly.

3. I do not have any XAUI card so I programmed SerDes 0x10 RCW rcw_5g_1500mhz.bin, uboot, fman to the flash and boot from bank4, I loaded fsl-image-core and trying sample

    application reflector but it is giving following error

The application reflector is a USDPAA based sample program, please make sure that you have boot up your system with a USDPAA dtb "uImage-p4080ds-usdpaa.dtb".

Before running USDPAA application, it is required to configure frame manger for the interfaces that will receive traffic. please use FMC commands on your target before start the reflector application. for example,

$ cd /usr/etc/

$ fmc –c usdpaa_config_p4_serdes_0x10.xml –p usdpaa_policy_hash_ipv4.xml –a.

If you want to use shared MAC between USDPAA and Linux, you could use the shared MAC dtb file  p4080ds-usdpaa-shared-interfaces.dtb and shared MAC policy usdpaa_policy_hash_shared_mac_ipv4.xml.

About the Linux Kernel ping problem, please make sure fman ucode has been flashed correctly and MAC address has been configured correctly, please check whether this port can work in u-boot.

In application, please pay attention to the following configuration.

• SGMII card goes in P4080DS slot 3.

• Use SerDes 0x10 and RCW file: R_PPSXN_0x10/rcw_5g_1500mhz.bin in the

P4080DS NOR flash. This is a different RCW file than the one discussed above.

• Boot into bank 4 (assuming you are using bank 4 for USDPAA).

• Add text ";serdes:fsl_srds_lpd_b2=0xf" to u-boot environment variable hwconfig,

saveenv, and reset the system again into bank 4. This disables fm2-10g. The leading

";" separates the information added to hwconfig from what was already there. Note

that fm1-10g is never available in SerDes 0x10.

• Delete references to any of the 10 Gbps interfaces and ensure references to all

USDPAA 1 Gbps interfaces are present in the fmc configuration file. For example, it

should like the following after you edit it:

Thanks for your inputs, I will cross check on the dtb in use, for ping

issue some more questions

1. I am not able to ping using FM1@DTSEC2 port at all, I tried many times.

FMan was loaded, following is the boot log

directory, do we need to generate it by running some

special command.

Would you please share your u-boot environment variables and ping log?

In order to build p4080ds-usdpaa-shared-interfaces.dtb, please add "${S}/arch/powerpc/boot/dts/p4080ds-usdpaa-shared-interfaces.dts in variable  KERNEL_DEVICETREE in meta-fsl-ppc/conf/machine/p4080ds.conf.

Then rebuild Kernel.
