Assign memory address to DDR

The size of my DDR chip is 4GB, can I only assign 1GB memory address to it?

Yes, you have to specify:

the base address that you want from Local Access Window Base Address Register

the size (1 GB in your case) from the Local Access Window Attributes Register - it has the SIZE field in it, bits 26-31
