NXP IDE & Toolchain for LPC2378

Hello,

I need help in this domain I am out for decades now. I have a Keil MCB2370 board (along with ULIN2 JTAG) I would like to put to an educative use. However, after 4 weeks of intensive communication with Keil Support we have concluded that it is not possible to activate Keil's MDK in its LICensing context:

* for the original MDK 3 it is no longer possible to obtain LICense

* current versions 5.xx do not provide backwrds support for the legacy boards

* use of older ARM Compiler 5 is prohibited within the available MDK versions

So I am looking for ARM7 IDE and toolchain that can compile and download code for LPC2378 based evaluation board (MCB2300). I have the followinf questions:

* will LPCXpresso ver 8.2.2 work with my MCB2370 board? - if not, which one?

* what does "debug download limit of 256KB" mean for the compiled code size?

* will ULINK2 work with this IDE?

Anything specific I should be aware of?

Firstly LPC2378 was launched in 2008. It will remains in longevity program until February of 2023 (next month). So we don't recommend it as a new design.

LPCXpresso ver 8.2.2 supports LPC2378.

Please make sure you follow the instructions for free activation at:

in particular you need to make sure that you are logged into the NXP web system.

"debug download limit of 256KB" means download obj file limit.

LPCXpresso IDE supports ULINK2.

Some short additional questions.

1. LPCXpresso

It has definitions for the complete LPC2378 preipherials (ADC, DAC, USB, Ethernet, RS232, CAN)? So I can desing simple examples?

2.Free Activation

Can I activate the same download registered on my name on more than 1 PCs? Or need I use different "owner" for every activation? I plan to use the MCB2370 for teching, and will need to move it around several PCs.

No, we only have Keil demos. You can download here.

If LPCXPresso IDE, you need to port the code by self.

You can install LPCXpresso IDE on two computers. Follow the same Free Activation steps to activate it, using the same user name.
