MC33978 communication issue

Customer : Bosch

We have received below query from Bosch regarding MC33978: 

We are using MC33978 in the project .

Its interfaced with the uC via SPI.

We checked the uC SPI configurations and found it to be correct.

When we try to establish communication with the MC33978 device we are seeing that the RX buffer in the uC is showing as 0xFFBADBAD.

We tried 1Mhz and 8Mhz clock for MC33978 and the result was same.

We are seeing the same result irrespective of which register we are trying to read in the slave.

There is no mention about when this data can be received from slave.

Can you please provide some details on this.

Hello Boby,

Can you ask your customer that check the communication with the IC by using the SPI Check register? Please refer datasheet section 7.10.1 SPI check.

If your customer receive the correct MISO return word, then can you ask your customer what are they sending to the MC33978 to receive 0xFFBADBAD.
