Precision finding with UWB cost

in my pursuit to build some IoT devices with UWB technology I’m coming up to a bit of a hurdle for cost. If I understand correctly the UWB precision tracking requires the anchor and the tag. The Anchor seems to be the expensive part which certain iPhones and Samsung phones cover correct? That means if I build the device for tracking I could theoretically just build the tag? Is that correct? Does anyone know what the approximate cost would be to manufacture a very simple tag assuming that the device is as straight forward as an AirTag?
