As more and more individuals acquire automobiles and city populations increase, road way congestion worsens year-by-year. Traffic Congestion results in billions of dollars in lost productivity: individuals are confined to hours upon hours of menial vehicle operation in stop-go conditions. Solution: Advances in NXP's ADAS Radar, Vision, and V2X technologies can alleviate congestion and regain lost productivity - 1) reducing personal stress, 2) improving commuter productivity, and 3) reducing traffic accidents. The session will show how controlling driver response variance, (e.g. making acceleration, deceleration, and minimum safe driving distance constant), relieves congestion jamming conditions. The session concludes with a mapping of ADAS DSRC features to NXP devices. Watch Video Presentation

Countless devices are joining the Internet of Things (IoT) daily. It is a key requirement that the device architecture of the device itself is secure; above and beyond the mandatory connection privacy. Embedded devices also require a device security approach that can follow future security trends, changes, and threats throughout their entire product lifecycle. This session looks at reported cases of device vulnerability in the industry, available technology, and best practices for designing secure connected products. Based and built on the Digi ConnectCore for i.MX6UL connected SOM platform, and without the traditional burden of effort related to design and implementation.

Virtual network functions offer a great deal of flexibility, allowing for dynamic provisioning of network services. Handling network services within a VM and meeting performance requirements can be challenging. It's essential to utilize specialized hardware accelerators to meet the desired performance targets. ODP/DPDK are becoming defacto standard for NFV abstracting the hardware accelerator interfaces from VNF applications. In order to leverage the data plane capability of underlying platform the hardware acceleration can be exposed to the VMs via proprietary interfaces through direct-assignment or standardized interfaces. In this session we discuss how we can leverage the hardware acceleration on QorIQ platforms for developing optimized virtual network functions with DPDK/ODP.
