Description

A residential (smart home) gateway is an appliance that bridges a Wide Area Network (WAN/ Cloud) connection to a Local Area Network (LAN), usually Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet, in a home or customer premises. The WAN connection is typically a Fiber, Cable or xDSL connected to the gateway via a modem or PHY.
