RFID - long read range

Hi,

our new design requires RFID identification of tool used in home appliance. Required reading distance is about 35 cm. We consider 13.56 MHz as best fitting our application, but consider also LF technology. Can you recommend any solutions / ICs suitable for this application?

Thank you, but this is what we've already known - we can build this with Hitag family or with ISO 15693 chips @ 13.56 MHz. I hoped there are somewhere "hidden" reference designs or guidelines regarding read range vs antenna size and power or power boosting circuits, if necessary, as TI provides on their e2e forum:
