PN7462 temperature issues over 50°C

Hi everybody,

I developed a custom card reader for contact and contactless smart card, this card reader is expected to run in an outdoor environment and with a temperature up to 70°C

I have issues when the ambient temperature goes over 50°C with contact cards.

The issues are :

• ATR is corrupted or
• During APDU exchanges, frames are corrupted.

The NXP data sheet says the PN7462 should work up to 85°C

The firmware of the reader comes from the NXP example PN7462AU_ex_phExCcid where the 2 temperature sensors of the PN7462 are disabled.

Does anyone met similar issues? Any idea ?

Hi

can you check that all the other components are properly solder and are working properly? Please check that the external crystal is working properly.
