Inconsistent on iPhone

Hi,

I have a product which uses NTAG5 Link connected to an I2C sensor using energy harvesting. Android App performance is good, but with iPhone the performance is inconsistent. Some customers report 10% scan success rate, our testing shows more like 95%. There seems to be no logic that we can conclude in terms of which iPhone model or iOS version is worse, and hence struggle to investigate and solve the problem.

Is this something that others have experienced? Is there any good ideas to improve reliability of the iPhone App?

Hope you are doing well.

By any chance, have you followed the App Note NTAG 5 - How to use energy harvesting? There are many factors the influence on energy harvesting, such as the antenna size and field strength of the RF reader.

You can find some measurements with Apple iPhone 11 in the same App Note; for NFC mobile phones, it is recommended to set energy harvesting mode optimized for low field strength (EH_MODE).
