How to read CPU card for PN512?

For PN512 read different kinds of Cards, I have following quesitons:

1) If use PN512 to read MIFARE DESFire, does PN512 need a another SAM module?

2) Whether PN512 can read CPU card（with MCU+ROM+COS..） ? If so, what's the typical circuit of PN512?

Hi Wenxue,

PN512 is just a front end, so you need a SAM module like smartMX to read MIFARE DESFire. and of course it can be used to read CPU card, please refer to the ref design in the following link:

Another question about PN512,  from PN512 datasheet, we have industrial version PN512AA0HN1/C2 (HVQFN32) and PN512AA0HN1/C2BI (HVQFN32 with Burn In), My quesiton is what is the meaning of "Burn In"?
