Hi,

I was looking into discovery loop to detect and print the UID and SAK bytes of different types of cards. I also wanted to check it with the smartphone. When i place an android phone i am able to see UID and SAK and it prints out as a type 4A credential. But when i place apple phone, i don't see it printing anything. I have even tried using Nfrcrdlib_SimplifiedAPI_ISO_Freertos example too but it was also not able to detect the presence of iOS device.

My question is, is it possible to print or atleast detect the presence of apple phone when it is brought near the PN7642 reader. If it is possible can someone tell me what changes should be made.

Thanks

So, there is no way to just detect and print the UID of iphone when it is brought closer to the reader?

Hello!

Unfortunately, it is necessary to implement the ECP support in the Reader to do so.

Hello sir,

This is correct but, please keep in mind that the access to this software has to be done through our Distributors since it is a very restricted topic and, I don't have these information.

Hello, my name is Fabian, I've been assigned to support your case.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

The reason why the PN7642 isn't able to read the iPhone is because, iPhone doesn't emulate a type 4 tag. It can emulate cards but, through a proprietary protocol.

Our Reader do support this protocol but, in order to get access it is required to contact your Distributor since this is a very restricted software.

Unfortunately, the PN7642 won't detect your iPhone if your software doesn't support ECP even if you are using a emulation of a card. i.e. Transport Card or ApplePay.

Best Regards,
Fabian
