Dear NXP Support Team,
We understand that the MC33665A, used in the TPL Physical Layer (QuadPHY), has been declared obsolete. Since this IC is used in NXP BMS evaluation boards, we would like to ask whether NXP recommends an alternative IC that is compatible with the BMS Model-Based Design (MBD) example previously provided in Simulink.
Specifically, we would appreciate your clarification on the following points:
Recommended replacement: Is there a recommended alternative to the MC33665A that is compatible with the existing NXP BMS evaluation boards and the MBDT software?
Software compatibility: If we replace the MC33665A on the evaluation board with the recommended alternative, will the existing Simulink model and generated code continue to work without modification?
Required modifications: If software or hardware modifications are necessary, could you please provide details about the required changes to the Simulink model, MBDT configuration, drivers, or firmware?
Example availability: Does NXP provide an updated BMS MBD example or a migration guide for using an alternative IC?
We would like to understand the implications of replacing this IC before proceeding, particularly whether the existing MBDT-based development workflow can be maintained.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to your advice.
