I am having some problems with the BLE part of the IW612. I get errors like this:
Sep 30 14:27:11 device kern.err kernel: [103370.366384] Bluetooth: hci0: Controller not accepting commands anymore: ncmd = 0
Sep 30 14:27:11 device kern.err kernel: [103370.372705] Bluetooth: hci0: Injecting HCI hardware error event
Sep 30 14:27:32 device kern.err kernel: [103391.064915] Bluetooth: hci0: Frame reassembly failed (-84)
Sep 30 14:27:34 device kern.err kernel: [103393.005935] Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0x0c03 failed: -110
My platform is STM32MP1 with kernel 6.6.x, using Murata 2EL module. Using the nxp hci driver.
Can someone clarify if the following is true:
- The version of github.com/nxp-imx/mwifiex should be matched with github.com/nxp-imx/imx-firmware
- Version of the calibration (github.com/murata-wireless/nxp-linux-calibration) doesn't matter much
- No need to match the tag with the kernel version, so i don't have to use the lf-6.6.52_2.2.0 branch, the newer lf-6.18.37_2.1.0 should be backwards compatible with my kernel
I want to have this cleared before testing a newer version to see if the update resolves my problems.
Hi, @allard_p
- The version of github.com/nxp-imx/mwifiex should be matched with github.com/nxp-imx/imx-firmware
==>[NXP]: Yes, we strongly recommend to use matched driver(github.com/nxp-imx/mwifiex) and FW(github.com/nxp-imx/imx-firmware).
- Version of the calibration (github.com/murata-wireless/nxp-linux-calibration) doesn't matter much
==>[NXP]: Yes, the calibration doesn't matter much for your current HCI errors. It usually affects the RF performance, transmit power, and regulatory behavior.
- No need to match the tag with the kernel version, so i don't have to use the lf-6.6.52_2.2.0 branch, the newer lf-6.18.37_2.1.0 should be backwards compatible with my kernel
==>[NXP]:Yes, our driver is compatible with old kernels, like yours: 6.6.x. But you need to cross compile the driver source code with your kernel cross compile tool-chain.
By the way, You mentioned that you are using the nxp hci driver.
Are you using our btnxpuart? or you are using Linux open source UART?
For Bluetooth: hci0: Frame reassembly failed (-84) error, I would prefer to recommend you to check your device tree related to Bluetooth, and also baud rate.
Best regards,
Christine.
