We are using the i.MX 8M Plus in our Digital Video Registrator. We are currently tasked with modifying the design to connect at least two (4 better) cameras using SerDes chips. In researching this, I see that connecting the DS90UB960 or DS90UB954 might be problematic because the processor does not support virtual channels.
Is there any information or positive experience regarding the connection of other deserializers (from TI, Analog Devices, THine Electronics, etc.)?

As you mention, serializers are not available for i.MX 8M Plus due to the lack of virtual channel, there is a reference for i.MX 8 series processors using i.MX8QM and i.MX8QXP, i.MX 95 supports VC and has a serializer reference as well.

I understand that two cameras cannot be connected to a single MIPI interface using a deserializer.
However, are there any proven deserializer solutions for connecting a single/two camera to a single/two CSI/MIPI interfaces?
Is it possible to use, for example, the MAX96714 ?
