MR-VMU-RT1176 External RAM

When using the MR-FMUM-RT1176 on custom board, is it possible to add extra external memory? Since not all of the SEMC pins are available through the connectors and both FLEXSPI's are already used.

If you keep the MR-FMUM-RT1176 module as-is and only design your own carrier board, adding external memory is not possible. If you truly need memory-mapped expansion such as SDRAM or HyperRAM, the only path is a chip-down design of your own that brings out the full SEMC or FlexSPI bus. If external flash/eeprom is acceptable, the practical options are therefore:

(1) re-partition the on-module Octal Flash

(2) add a serial device on the carrier board via lpspi/lpi2c.
