Currently, I need some ICs which are used for alternator voltage regulation application and have these features:
1. Voltage regulation range: contain 28VDC.
2. Field current capacity: at least 7A.
3. Providing load balancing in dual alternators configuration.
Could you suggest for me some ICs from your company which meet these requirements above ?
Hi,
The closest device in our portfolio is the AR6000 alternator regulator with LIN. It supports up to 12 A rotor excitation current and includes load response control, current limitation, overcurrent protection, thermal protection and LIN communication.
However, the AR6000 is intended for 12 V automotive charging systems, with a selectable regulation setpoint from 10.6 V to 16 V. Therefore, it cannot regulate a 28 V charging system.
The older TC80310 alternator regulator, which supports up to 8 A rotor excitation current, but its regulation voltage range is likewise limited to 10.6 V to 16 V, is no longer manufactured.
In addition, the load response control available in these devices regulates the rate at which alternator load is applied. It does not provide active load sharing or current balancing between two alternators.
