i.MX95 PinList do not match the NET_NAME in the ball map.

Hello community,

I compared the NET_NAMEs in “i.mx95_19mm_ballmap.xlsx”

and the Ball names in “imx95_pinmux_pinlist.xlsx,”

which are included with rev. 8 of the i.MX95 datasheet, “IMX95AEC.pdf”.

As a result, the following NET_NAMEs and Balls did not match.

Ball : imx95_pinmux_pinlist only

VDD_AUD_1P8
VSS_SENSE

NET_NAME : i.mx95_19mm_ballmap only

DEPOP
VDD_EARC_1P8
VSS_SOC_SENSE
VSS_ARM_SENSE

For Balls that are not listed in the NET_NAME, which pins should they be assigned to?

Also, how should pins with NET_NAMEs that are not listed in the Balls be handled?

Best regards,

Ishii

Re: i.MX95 PinList do not match the NET_NAME in the ball map.

imx95 has two kinds of packages, 15mmx15mm combine VSS_SOC_SENSE and VSS_ARM_SENSE to VSS_SENSE, 19mmx19mm has separate VSS_ARM_SENSE and VSS_SOC_SENSE pins. so you can see two names in imx95 pinlist which includes 15mm and 19mm together.

for VDD_AUD_1V8 and VDD_EARC_1V8, it's changed on B0 chip because eARC function is not supported.

Please refer to the attachment.

Re: i.MX95 PinList do not match the NET_NAME in the ball map.

Please refer to the following confirmation from the AE team.

I agree that the document has some typo for sure, I will notice NPI team to correct them, the explanation above is just for your understanding that why these names are there.

in one word, please refer to latest NXP EVK to understand the pin name.

for DEPOP, it's "de-populated". this is very common definition in SOC package, yes, for ballmap, we should explain it somewhere.

Re: i.MX95 PinList do not match the NET_NAME in the ball map.

Hello @yipingwang ,

Thank you for your response.

I also understand the status of DEPOP.

Since ballmap also references the EVK schematic,

please update the documentation as well.

Best regards,

Ishii.

Re: i.MX95 PinList do not match the NET_NAME in the ball map.

Hello @yipingwang ,

Thank you for your replay.

However, I am comparing the ball map and pin list for the 19 mm x 19 mm package.

I am not referring to the ball map for the 15 mm x 15 mm package.

So it is difficult for me to understand why you are mentioning the 15 mm x 15 mm package.

Also, I believe datasheet IMX95AEC rev. 8 should be for the B0 silicon.

So it is difficult for me to understand why you are referring to the A1 silicon.

By when will this be corrected?

Regarding “DEPOP” written in the NET_NAME field of the ball map,

I assume it means DNP, but this is not stated anywhere explicitly.

In which document is the handling of DEPOP explained?

Best regards,

Ishii.
