I see that, in the reference design, there is an I²C communication interface between the MCU and the TEA2367. This makes it possible to read status flags and other data. I also found a document that describes the corresponding communication protocol.
However, the TEA2226, which is also part of the reference design, is not connected to the MCU via I²C. Why is this the case? Is it not possible to read out data from the TEA2226 as well? What is the reason for this design choice? Alternatively, how can data be read from the TEA2226?
