Hello!
I know that the e200z7 core has a PMU (Performance Monitoring Unit) which can count hardware events. However, I would like to know if the MPC5777C has more performance monitors outside the core that can count events like misses in the PFLASH mini-cache, for example.
Best regards,
Matheus.
So every monitor that can count hardware events are listed in the Performance Monitor chapter of the e200z7 core RM?
- Basically yes, you are right.
Does not the peripherals have performance monitors themselves?
- No, they don't have.
Does not the Nexus debug module have performance monitoring features?
- Nexus may have TRACE feature, offering lot of capabilities that are however rather feature of the tools itself. You may see for instance following:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN4591.pdf
I have been dealing with Performance monitor in the following thread, pay attention to links at the bottom:
https://community.nxp.com/t5/MPC5xxx/cant-write-in-MPC5744P-performance-monitor-registers/td-p/14962...
However performance monitor is a feature of e200 core. The most external event are BIU (bus interface unit) related.
