Is it necessary to use PDO and PDOCLK for debugging and downloading the S912ZVML32F3MKH chip program

I am using the S912ZVML32F3MKH chip. If I don't use the PDO and PDOCLK pins and only use BKCD, RST, GND, and VDDX, can I debug and download the program properly. Do PDO
and PDOCLK require a download port to debug the download program?

I used Multilink with CodeWarrior to flash firmware, and once I had the right drivers and properly set up the BKCD, RST, GND, and VDDX connections, it worked smoothly. The trickiest part was configuring the target setup—felt like an FNF rhythm check: mess up one beat (or pin), and nothing syncs. P&E Micro’s docs and example projects helped a lot, but expect a bit of trial and error at first.

Hi,

We recommend using all the necessary pins so that all debugging functions are available. You don't know if you'll ever need it and then you'll miss it. For example, the trace function. In addition, the debugger can have a property implemented when it needs these pins. We don't see it because it is given by the implementation of the debug interface, its protocol and properties, which is not our product. Of course, if you check your specific usage, then the possibility is there, but as I already wrote, it is better to use the full interface.

Best regards,

Ladislav
