Encoder for HVP-MC3PH

Hi,

the HVP-MC3PH: High-Voltage Development Platform supports a motor speed/position sensors interface (Encoder, Hall, Tacho Generator)

In the circuit diagram I saw a 5 pin connector (J9) for the encoder Interface with a 5V power supply.Encoder Interface.PNG

Is there a recommendation for a Encoder working together with the platform ?

Best regards

Hi lethuer2‌,

Any quadrature encoder that works at 5V should be fine. Since the board supplies 5V as available power for the encoder, it is expecting a 5V signal as the output from the encoder. If this is not the case for your encoder, additional circuitry to translate the voltage level might be required.

Nevertheless, I'm not aware of any recommendation. Please check this manual to see how an encoder can be used:

Hope it helps!
