Dear Team,

Our customer is planning to develop an AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) solution and would like to evaluate an NXP-based platform for this project.

Could you please advise whether NXP has a supported solution for AVAS applications? If available, kindly share the recommended MCU/MPU, reference design, development platform, software support, and any relevant documentation.

Your guidance will help us propose the most suitable solution to the customer.

Hello,

NXP does not currently offer a dedicated, off-the-shelf AVAS reference platform. However, AVAS can be implemented using the NXP S32K3 automotive MCU family, combined with an external automotive audio amplifier and speaker subsystem. S32K3 provides the necessary automotive communication interfaces, safety capabilities, and software support required for AVAS ECU development. The exact device selection depends on the required audio complexity, functional safety targets, and network architecture.

An official S32K5 AVAS demo using the DSP-V subsystem is planned for 2026, enabling more advanced sound synthesis.
