PLEASE HELP - IDE for MPC564S

Hi Guys, I'm starting again using NXP micro controllers and have started a new project which will be using the MPC564S 208 or 144 pin LQFP package, not sure yet which one. In the past I used MCUexpresso IDE but I find that after installing the latest one the MPC564S is not supported. 

Can someone PLEASE tell me what free IDE software can I use to write assembler code and download to the MPC564S via its JTAG interface. We will be designing a stand alone board.

Hi David, thank you so much for the info. oops, yes it is the mpc5645S I was talking about. lol, my mistake on that one.

Codewarrior is not a free IDE. The website says its a 30 day trial and then a licence for it is $900 ( I think ).

Other micro controller manufacturers have FREE IDE's for their micro controllers with no limitations.

Once we've studied the MPC5645S then we'll be purchasing in bulk for our world wide product, so NXP will still be making a lot of money from us, why do we have to purchase a licence? your IDE should be free.

Please let me know your thoughts on that and thank you again for your support. 

Time to do some design work to incorporate your MPC5645S into our product.

We do provide free compiler for newer products, as I already mentioned. Here you may see list of 57xx/56xx devices, supported by S32DS:

Although I don't reason why just MPC5645S device is excluded. I will try to find it out.

You have two options offered by NXP:
- Codewarrior with Classic IDE (2.10)

- Codewarrior with Eclipse IDE (11.1)

Although for some MPC56xx there is also support in the newest S32 Design Studio, it is not the case of MPC5645S.
