Hi,

let‘s define what the platform is - it is the core and surrounding peripherals tightly tied to the core (thus ON platform modules are INTC, XBAR, or PBRIDGE itself...) making such independent unit. On the safety devices where two cores can run in lockstep mode (MPC5643L or MPC5675K) such unit is also called sphere of replication.
OFF platform peripheral are mostly communication modules, ADCs and so on, thus these are not system modules tightly tied to the core (on safety device are not being replicated).

Regards,
Lukas
