Hi guys, I've managed to find a few IC's and should receive them in a few days so I've started designing out prototype board.

Just one question. The Hardware Design Guide (section 5.2 page 15) says that I have to connect an external ballast transistor for the 1.2V lines. Can I just use a 1.2V external regulator instead of using the  transistor?

Thanks guys for your support, much appreciated.

Peter

MPC5645S did not have external regulation requirement as specification and was hence never design for this.
If customer use it this way, it’ll be inconsistent with datasheet specification thus it’ll customer responsibility if there is any undesired behavior later.

In other words - you can use externally supplied core voltage only at his own risk. MPC5645S does not offer externally supplied core voltage as an option.
