MPC5606S RPM cycles Count

Hi,

    Can any one share the Engine RPM Measurement code in MPC5606S.Since I tried to Count the Pulses by using C:\Program Files (x86)\Freescale\CW for MPC55xx and MPC56xx 2.8\(CodeWarrior_Examples)\555x-CW\eMIOS-PEC-OPWFM Example code,By giving 100Hz Square Signal to the Input Pad, but I cant Get the No of Pulses value.Please help me on this one.

Hi,

The PEC mode (and many others) is not supported on the MPC5606S eMIOS module. For the only supported modes refer to the MPC5606S Reference Manual. In fact there are only GPIO, SAIC, SAOC, MCB, OPWFMB and OPWMB modes.

So it depends what you want to do exactly. If you need just counting external pulses, the MCB mode with external clock source can be used. If you would like to measure the period/frequency of external signal, the SAIC mode can be useful.
