We are considering using MPC5604P as the microcontroller for EPS(Electric Power Steering). Now the developer requires Quadrature Decoder Module, while I looked through the user guide but it seems there isn't one. So my question is: is it possible to stick to the microcontroller/hardware to create the QE module? More generally, is a Module a set of Hardware(if w/o then not possible to use the functionalities) or the combination of common hardware with software on top of them?
Sorry for lack of knowledge for the topic. If the second question is confusing please just ignore it, I really need to find answer for the first one.
