Unfortunately matters related to the use of third party hosts and modules are out of our support scope. However, I would suggest taking a look at section 11.2 of the PN7160 Data Sheet to get further details on the functional description of the I2C interface, and ensure a proper addressing of the device is taking place.
You could try basing your implementation on the available "PN7160 NXP-NCI MCUXpresso Example Project" which you can find at the product page. Please refer to the NXP-NCI2.0 MCUXpresso examples guide in which you will find a detailed description on how to use the examples with tools like MCUXpresso IDE , but it could be a good starting point.
I would also suggest referring to the manufacturer of the module to see if there is any software example available for the device.
