Where is LPC 804 SDK API docs for lpc_crc_adapter and other abstraction layer components

Hello,
There are a some xxx_adapters presented in MCUXpresso->NewProject->Components->abstraction layer  tab, but the MCUXpresso SDK API Reference manual does seem to reference them.  How do I get to their API's.  such as @spc_crc_adapter.

The Reference Manual  calls out 'drivers' and 'adapters', does this imply different positions in the architecture?
