impossible to open peripheral perspectives

Good morning,

I need to use perspective peripherials but clicking on open does not open it for me. It tells me that TEE Tool is disabled and gives me the error when opening. I used the frdm-mcuxc242 board with the hello world demo, could you tell me how to open peripherials and create my peripherials.h?

Hi,

in your dialog, if you click on the "USB" icon, does it open the Peripherals perspective for you, or not?

Also other possibilities there are available:

- in the main menu there's ConfigTools menu and "Peripherals" in there.

- context menu on the *.mex file in the "Project Explorer" has also the "MCUXpresso Config Tools" containing the "Peripherals" item which should open the right perspective.

If it does not work, look to the <workspace>/.metadata/.log file if there are some exceptions. If yes, please attach here.

Does it do a with a clean, brand new example hello world? I tried (MCUXpressoIDE_24.12.148) and it works (SDK 24.12.0):

I have tried using other projects but peripherials does not open, even on projects that used to open before.
I use MCUXpresso version 24.9.25, do you think I should change it?
I have attached the .log file where it gives the exception.

Hi,

I tried changing the workspace and changing it allows me to open peripherials safely.
I'd still like to keep the old workspace with all my projects and find out what happened.

Hi,

from the log it seems the metadata stored for the perspective (or something related) is corrupted. I'm not able to advise what to fix.

If it was me, I'd go with the simplest and straight forward flow:

1. close IDE
2. rename (to have a backup) <workspace>/.metadata folder to e.g. .metadata-old
3. start IDE with the same workspace directory
4. menu File | Import ... > Existing Projects into Workspace - and re-import projects back

OR

more complicated one by creating a new workspace with copied Preferences, but not the UI layout

1. close IDE, open existing workspace
2. menu File | Switch Workspace > Other ... select new directory and in the "Copy Settings" check only "Preferences"
3. menu File | Import ... > Existing Projects into Workspace - and re-import projects back. If you do not copy projects, they will stay in the original workspace folder, you will have only a new workspace with new .metadata folder.
   It might be confusing to have two places. If it works, you can try swap the .metadata folders in the workspaces and then you can try the original one
