Redlink exception: Cannot write to server: not open

I'm not able to program using LinkServer. I've been using it for months until this week (no recent updates, changes in configuration), so I suspect there are IT issues preventing the program from running. However, I've been told that there isn't anything blocked on the firewall. If it is true that the firewall is preventing redlinkserv.exe from running, I'm hoping there is some way to prove that this is indeed the problem.

When I program, MCUXpresso will stay on "Trying: LinkServer" continously until finally showing the error message attached:

RedlnkServerException
Reason: Cannot write to server: not open

Could you help us share more details about your setup: MCUXpresso version, OS, Device, debug probe.

In this community post a similar problem is described, could you help us try the recommendation mentioned here and let us know if that work for you.

I believe the issue is firewall related, and I'm trying to get the application white-listed.

I can't actually get redlinkserv.exe to do anything, so when I click the icons the IDE won't respond.

Hello,

Could you kindly check with your IT team if there are any security that might be blocking USB port access on your machine?

In certain scenarios, USB connectivity is limited by IT for security purposes.

Since you indicated that the LinkServer was functioning previously.

 

Other option is, if a debug operation fails or its not properly shut down, or a crash occurs, it is possible that one or more of these processes are still running making a new debug connection fail. Could you help us try the button "Clean Up debug" in MCUXpresso IDE, to kill all low-level debug executables.

Could you help us confirm if your device appears correctly in Device Manager? And if the drivers are updated?

Could you verify the voltage on the SWD and share it with us please?
