Hi
MCUXpresso IDE demands almost 30% usage of my CPU in idle. During debug process, it gets up 80%. It that normal? I have an i7 Dell Ultrabook with SSD + 8G RAM.
@Thank you
Andre VB
No, that's certainly not normal.
this is what I have while debugging a Kinetis on Windows 10 with V11.0.1 using J-Link:
So it really does not add up. Are you using the V11.0.1 (NXP MCUXpresso IDE 11.0.1 available | MCU on Eclipse ) too?
I know that this might be somewhat different between debug probes (P&E, SEGGER, LPC-Link), but in general it is not above 5% or so.
I hope this helps,
Erich
Hi Erich
Latest MCUXpresso version(V11.0.1). Board is the FRM-KL25, P&E probe. I have been noticed the same behavior in desktop PC as well.
Maybe not related but the tool looks heavy, specially if I use Semihost. With Semihost I have to restart the application every time when I lunch compilation. I stop using it and it and the tool gets faster, less restart, but still high CPU usage.
Thanks
AndreVB
Ok, I see a 20% CPU load with using P&E for the FRDM-KL25Z. I'll get in touch with P&E about this...
