LS1046A & LS1046A-RDB Available Memory

I'm currently working with the LS1046A-RDB reference board design kit provided by eInfoChips.   The application notes on the system defines that the available memory for the single physical bank is 8-GB.  For the reference kit, is this the maximum available memory or can I swap the memory module with a larger DDR4?  

When designing my own board off the LS1046A QorIQ Layerscape, what's the maximum physical bank count and memory capacity per bank that I can put into my design?

Maximum supported LS1046A DDR controller 64-bit bank size is 16 GB.

The DDR controller supports 4 banks.
