What is 'Step Filters' feature?

Hello,

I could start testing LPCXpresso1114_blinky on XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service PAck 3.

LPCXpresso's IDE is working well.

I have questions.
What is 'Step Filters'? I'd like to have a simple explanation of this feature.
What should be the expected working of the debugger if I once selected 'Use Step Filter'?

Although I will continue to search for it in Help documents, Thank you for answers!

Step filters are a java specific debug function within Eclipse. When debugging Java, the step filters button works in a similar way Step Into, but it allows control over which methods it will step into.

You can ignore Step filters for the C debugging provided by the LPCXpresso IDE.
