I am trying to get my lpc1769 to work on Archlinux, I know its not officially supported but the ide loads fine. The problem I am running into is I cannot debug the board, when I try to run debug I get an error saying there is no emulator or board available.

Is there a workaround for this? Or am I out of luck until I get back to my windows pc?

Well, This same exact thing is happening to me in my Windows XP 2. with the same error. I think that drivers in my OS is corrupt.. I think the same might be happening to you.. Your linux may not be detecting the hardware attached.

Firstly, take a look at this FAQ (plus the others that it points to, )....
http://support.code-red-tech.com/Cod...ailedToConnect

If you are still having problems, then please answer/try out the following....

Are you running the OS natively or under a virtual machine?
Is this a desktop or a laptop?

Unplug and then reconnect the LPCXpresso board.
- Can you now see the "USB Device with DFU Capabilities" in Device manager?

Can you try connecting using a different USB cable - does this help?
Can you try connecting to a different USB port on your PC - does this help?

If you are still not able to connect, then please run through the diagnostics script below and post the results....

As you recognise, this is not a supported OS.  It might be worth doing a search of previous threads though for "no emulator or board", to see if you can pick up any hints of things to try, for example:

In the documentation they've said that IDE supports UBUNTU. so I'm trying that tomorrow.. :)
