Hi,

I've been through the forums and it looks that the only solution to my problem is to have Code Red Support look into it.

I am having the same licensing issue a fair few people have had in the past which seems to be consistent irrespective of the IDE version I am running.

The following occurs when I got to flash my dev board:

Pc: (  0) Reading remote configuration
Ni: LPCXpresso Debug Driver v4.0 (Sep 21 2011 20:05:54)
Nc: Looked for chip XML file in C:/nxp/LPCXpresso_4.1.0_190/lpcxpresso/bin/LPC11C24/301.xml

Nc: Looked for vendor directory XML file in C:/nxp/LPCXpresso_4.1.0_190/lpcxpresso/bin/nxp_directory.xml

Nc: Found generic directory XML file in C:/nxp/LPCXpresso_4.1.0_190/lpcxpresso/bin/crt_directory.xml

Pc: (  5) Remote configuration complete
Pc: ( 30) Emulator Connected
Pc: ( 40) Debug Halt
Pc: ( 50) CPU ID
Nc: Emu(0): Conn&Reset. DpID:  BB11477. Info: T1S6RGRIA
Nc: SWD Frequency: 250 KHz. RTCK: False. Vector catch: False.
Nc: Packet delay: 0  Poll delay: 0.
Nc: NXP: LPC11C24/301  Part ID: 0x1430102B
Pc: ( 65) Chip Setup Complete
Wt: License check failure (CheckLicense)
Nt: Connected: was_reset=false. was_stopped=true
Cr:f Restricted - unregistered license, download limit of 8K
Pc: ( 70) License Check Complete
Et:53: License does not permit flash operations from command line
Pc: (100) Target Connection Failed

Attempting to re-activate LPCXpresso doesn't seem to do the trick as I keep generating the same serial number and receiving the same activation code.

I've attached the .log file along with licensing files (as per http://support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/LPCXLicenseDiag)

Look forward to a response,

Regards

This is being caused by something preventing the debug driver being able to validate your license. It collects various information from your system and also run "cscript.exe". The IDE does something similar, and that has managed to collect the information. Check your firewall/av settings and any security settings imposed by your IT department.

Fair enough. This could have been an out of date log perhaps.

I imported the same project into a new workspace in order to generate a fresh .log (attached).

There have been numerous activations completed.

Here is another attachment which contains the .log file along with licensing files produced by v5.0.12 of LPCXpresso. The exact same License check failure is observed.

The error message is the .log file "!MESSAGE No license to activate" is generally seen if you have not actually generated a serial number during the activation process.

Did you actually go through the LPCXpresso activation process as documented in the Getting Started Guide?

I have been able to resolve the issue by running the programmer under a virtual machine of Windows XP Pro SP3. It appears odd that it's not possible otherwise.

We notice you are using version 4.1.0, which was released over a year ago. We have fixed several License issues since that release, so please try again with either 4.3.0 or (even better) our latest release 5.0.12.

As stated in the FAQ pointed to by TheFallGuy, virtually all licensing issues are caused by our tools unable to run cscript, so please ensure you try everything mentioned in the FAQ.

I have gone through the entire FAQ (sorry for misleading you) - I was trying other versions in an attempt to rectify the problem.
