LPCExpresso 1769 LCD help required

hi everyone;
i just got my lcpexpresso 1769 and connected it successfully to a board and pc. everything works fine so far, but i cant get the LCD to display any text or anything.
i have gone through the forums but have seen nothing of the sort. any sample code - however simple will be appreciated - if not against the rules that is.

If you are free to choose a display I would suggest that. A nice TFT is much more impressive than an old-fashioned 2*16 LCD. And the time you spent with it's software isn't wasted, it's a real eye-catcher :)

btw. can you point me to lpcexpresso samples that can work for this time? am newbie to this thing but it is interesting. the other modules were fun till curiosity overrode all of them :(- the only thing that is on my mind now is seeing something from the screen:)!!

I was surprised that a joker added a 10 year old I2C (400kHz) LCD display to a LPCXpresso1769. Looks like a sick joke to me :) Google showed this University board. I assume they also have examples for this display :confused: I would always suggest to use something faster (SPI) and more colored (TFT) with Touchscreen :rolleyes:

But anyway, I don't know what you are planning. Datasheet of display is describing how to use I2C display commands and LPCXpresso I2C examples are also available. Perhaps you can find a sample or you want to spent a lot of hours writing your own driver. If that's not an educational project I would just use something newer. A nice modern 320x240 TFT is looking very cool and easy to connect to a LPCXpresso via SPI :cool:

Is it this board by any chance?

That has an OLED display. EA's page says they have driver code for it. (oh and a user manual).

To be honest am not so sure about the specific name of the board am using  :eek:; but so far i know that it is the the lpcexpresso development board. nothing close to a name is written on it, but The model number of LCD Display is ‘NHD-C0216CiZ-FSW-FBW-3V3’:o. that is as much as i have scrapped now.
also in the documents i didnt see anything like the board's name but if there is anything specific that is required about it, then tell me it to me so that i can look for it :)

My LPCXpresso1769 has no LCD, so what LCD did you connect?
