I have LPC DEV KIT-11U14. Never tried to use any JTAG on my computer before, so it shouldn't find old drivers/register entries. When I try to start debugging session in LPCXpresso on some example project, it states, that it didn't find any emulator. Even installed Ubuntu 12.04 32bit and there is the same problem.
When I try to boot it manually on Ubuntu I get:
dfu-util -l

I get

and JTAG is switched to mass storage memory with firmware file on it. In that state Win7 recognizes it as "NXP LPC134X IFLASH USB Device" and lists it under "disc drives".
When I plug it on Win7 only red "power" LED is on, while on Ubuntu besides "power" diode, green "D2" LED shines.
I started thinking, that board is malfunctioning, not operating systems. I tried to plug it on another computer with Win7, but it also recognized it as "COOCOX COLINKEX".
