I cannot get LPCXpresso to activate free version under linux

I am getting "No License to active" when attempting to activate a license for LPCXpresso

I am using Ubuntu and I logged into my NXP account and submitted a serial number generated from LPCXpresso and received an activation code....

The cause of that error message is described towards the bottom of the FAQ : Activating LPCXpresso Free Edition 

Note that you might also want to consider using the new MCUXpresso IDE product, the Free version of which does not require you to go through the Free activation process that LPCXpresso IDE does. For more details, visit : http://www.nxp.com/mcuxpresso/ide.
