Could I use CSTNE12M0GH5L000R0
12 Mhz smd crystal (quartz) for LPC1549 with USB(CDC) and CAN interfaces application?
This quartz has frequency tolerance 0.07% and frequency stability 0.11%,
the built-in capacitors in case of the part are 33 pF (Uoscin -= 1.08V, Uoscout =1.3V
Before I used PRQC12.00CR1010V00L smd quartz with 10 pF built-in capacitors
(Uoscin -= 1.0V, Uoscout =1.5V) and frequency tolerance 0.1% and frequency stability 0.1%.
But it is not available now.
NXP also recommends the quartz with the external capacitors 7-10 pF.
in R_10075 "Driving LPC1500 with EPSON Crystals"
Hello iharihar,
We do not have a list of other recommended crystals you may use other than the ones listed on the R_10075 document and those used in our boards. I would strongly recommend using a crystal that is similar in characteristics to those recommended, especially if you will be using USB and CAN.
From what I would see on the CSTNE12M0GH5L000R0 datasheet, it has both a much higher load capacitance and frequency tolerance. This would affect the drive load and problems with the high-speed interfaces, so I would recommend looking for a crystal with similar properties as those on the list. You may look for the datasheet of the recommended crystal for comparison.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Gustavo
