we decided to use a LM4040 external voltage reference (2.5 V) connected to the VREFP pin. Depending on the shunt resistor this voltage reference draws something above 60 µA which is not acceptable for our battery driven application. Our idea is to provide the LM4040 supply voltage from any LPC1768 pin and shut down the reference when the ADC is not needed. Is there something to consider using this approach?
