MCU Xpresso (LPC Link2) Attach

I have MCUXrpresso 11, and would like to "attach to a running target", something that was relatively easy in v. 10.2

Now it's more awkward to do (edit the launch configuration to select "attach only" and not select "reset", but also it doesn't work. Whenever I try to "attach" it resets.

Please advise.

Hi Ian,

Could you please specify which device are you working on? I recommend you to read chapter 12.3.2 of the MCUXpresso IDE User Guide. Here it is explained how to attach to a running target depending on your launch configuration (LinkServer, P&E and Segger JLink).

I tested it on my side and it works.

Have a great day,
Felipe

Thanks. What is it about these fora that as soon as one hits "send" one realises the answer. Not a good idea to have both "attach" and "reset" boxes ticked!

However, I am a bit puzzled why it creates another file called "launch configuration (1)" which is different from "launch configuration" and how it knows which one to use.

Also I must say that the way it works now is a palaver compared to 10.2. Often it is necessary to do several "attaches", find the problem then reprogram, which involves editing "launch configuration" over and over again; and there is nothing to indicate when clicking "debug" which one it is about to do.
